Valda Kaledo-McDonald, our February 2023 AKOMA Bouquet recipient. Ms Kaledo is an educator and administrator from the Peel District School Board. Ms. Kaledo exemplifies Black Excellence. She is known as the `The Maker of Kings`. Her commitment and dedication to the PURE boys club at Louise Arbour is immeasurable. Ms Kaledo is the spirit of AKOMA
Akoma comes from the Asante of present day Ghana, and symbolizes compassion, understanding, devotion, goodwill and love. Akoma Bouquet is awarded to members in our community working in healthcare, social services or education who embody the spirit of AKOMA.
