About

BlackCalendar

Foreword by Roen Higgins

Our mission is to educate, inspire, and empower the Afro-Canadian Community through sharing stories that connect us as a community. Engagement with our rich culture and history is integral, as it shapes the context of our presence. With each generation, a new chapter of our history is curated.

BlackCalendar was developed to celebrate the essence of our existence through the eyes of our children. From their individual stories, we captured the brilliance of their hopes and aspirations, allowing us to align each child  with an exceptional community member that personifies the child`s vision of their future self.

BlackCalendar takes us on an inspiring journey through our dynamic history; pays tribute to our distinguished legacy; and reveals the boundless dreams of our future generation.

BlackCalendar is a project of the Afro Canadian Philanthropic Initiative.

The great force of history comes from the fact that we carry it within us,
are unconsciously controlled by it…History is literally present in all that we do.
